The couple were ‘surprised’ to learn they had conceived, after trying for a baby for over a year with no success. Steph explained that they had been ‘psyching themselves up for IVF’.

‘It was a massive surprise because emotionally we’d been psyching ourselves up for IVF. It was meant to be. We got engaged at the beginning of January and found out we were expecting in February,’ she told the publication.

Danny revealed he was on set when he received the news, in the midst of filming the ITV soap’s recent big disaster sequence, which saw a barn blow up.

‘When I saw how many times [Steph] had rang me I had a feeling. I thought, either she’s pregnant or something serious is going on,’ he recalled.
