The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex registered a series of domains with their baby daughter’s names and variations of them. According to a spokesperson for the couple, they made the purchase ahead of Lilibet Diana’s birth on June 4.
The source told People: “As is often customary with public figures, a significant number of domains of any potential names that were considered were purchased by their team to protect against the exploitation of the name once it was later chosen and publicly shared.”
Some of the domains registered included LilbetDiana.com and LiliDiana.com, The Telegraph reported.
The Duke and the Duchess chose their second child’s name as a tribute to Harry’s grandmother, the Queen, whose family nickname was Lilibet.
The baby’s middle name, Diana, was a tribute to her late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward claimed the Queen would not break away from royal tradition of neutrality to “reveal her feelings” about Harry and Meghan’s choice.
She told Express.co.uk: “I think the Queen will remain impassive about both the behaviour of the Sussexes and the naming of their baby girl Lilibet.
“Whatever she may think privately she will not reveal her feelings.
“It is personal and I feel certain she will keep it that way whatever they do.”
