TWITTER users have shown their love for Meghan Markle’s new nickname, given to her in New York.
The trip to New York is the Duke and Duchess is the first public event from the couple since they quit their roles as senior royals.
The couple are set to appear at the global TV event Global Citizen Live, a 24-hour live event star-studded event in Central Park on Saturday.
The Duchess was asked by a reporter during her visit to New York: “Madame Duchess are you enjoying your time in New York?”
Meghan then responded: “It’s wonderful to be back, thank you.”
The Sussex Squad Podcast tweeted their adoration for the new nickname as they said: “Look from here on out it is Madame Duchess for me with #MeghanMarkle.
“This is why I love this city!”
Twitter user @RAnnie2021 tweeted: “Who besides me is really liking the title Madame Duchess Meghan?
“Although I’m not liking the photographer who called her that, I am liking the name.”
The new nickname was given to the Duchess at the top of the city’s highest building, the One World Trade Centre.
Kyle Nazza, part of the National Press in America, tweeted an update about Meghan and Harry’s visit to the country.
He tweeted: “Prince Harry & Madam Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle tell me on 9/23/21 that it feels wonderful to be back in NYC.
“Mayor de Blasio expresses his admiration saying they are wonderful guests and that the work they are doing is so important for our whole country and our whole world.”
