Valtteri Bottas caused a big crash at the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix as he rammed into the back of Lando Norris which sent the McLaren smashing into the side Max Verstappen. Bottas had started on the front row alongside Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
However, the Finn got off to a slow start and found himself dragged into the midfield.
In an attempt to return to the front he tried to pass Norris but broke too late and went into the back of the young Brit.
That sent Norris into the side of Verstappen – who was challenging Hamilton for the lead.
Bottas apologised over his team radio as his race came to a premature end.
“I’m sorry, guys,” he said. “That’s it.”
Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc and Lance Stroll all retired from the race as they suffered damage in the incident.
A red flag was produced and the race was suspended.
