Martin Lewis was overcome with emotion when he received the National Television Award for the Expert category at Thursday night’s glittering ceremony. The 50-year-old beat Sir David Attenborough and Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper to scoop the accolade. Ben Shephard, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins discussed their co-star’s win on Friday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, but Ben mocked Martin’s reaction to the award.
Ben, Charlotte and Kate watched the touching moment Martin was announced as the winner back as he was seen kissing his wife’s shoulder and head.
However, Ben took a cheeky swipe at Martin’s kissing technique: “Head, shoulder…”
Charlotte scolded him: “You can’t be critical of that, it’s a lovely reaction.”
Ben laughed and replied: “It’s amazing but they need to choreograph the kissing, that’s a celebratory kiss.”
Kate explained Martin was “so shocked to win” the NTA as she defended the financial broadcaster.
Ben quipped: “No but he got [kissed] her head then he kissed her lower shoulder but I am sure he made up for it later.”
