Pressure mounts on two Monaco royals as concerns rise over the state of their marriage. Princess Charlene, 43, has not returned to Monaco since March leading to speculation her marriage to Prince Albert, 63, is coming under strain.
The Prince’s Palace has been facing calls to reveal all over his rumoured marital issues after his former Olympic swimmer wife failed to return to Monaco to celebrate the couple’s tenth wedding anniversary.
Princess Charlene travelled to Johannesburg to embark on a conservation trip in March.
The trip was initially only expected to last 10 to 12 days.
But The Telegraph has claimed Charlene’s departure coincided with her husband’s paternity suit over a love child which was supposedly born in the early stages of their relationship.
Prince Albert, who has twins Gabriella and Jacques with Princess Charlene, also fathered two other illegitimate children.
But sources in the Principality claim the one-time Commonwealth Games silver medallist opted not to return to Monaco due to a “serious” ear, nose and throat infection.
This also comes after Prince Albert confirmed his wife underwent a four-hour operation earlier this month.
He added that Charlene was still “resting”.
