Manchester United will be without Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday when they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the Premier League (5.30pm). Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has axed the blockbuster star from his squad after the player left the substitutes bench and stormed out of Old Trafford near the end of his side’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham on Wednesday night. And Express Sport takes a look at the team Ten Hag could go with in west London.
Goalkeeper – De Gea
David de Gea appears to have overcome his early-season struggles and kept his third consecutive clean sheet against Spurs. The Spain international has seen off competition from Dean Henderson in recent years and should keep his place between the sticks all season unless he suffers an injury.
Defence – Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw
The United defence has looked much more solid since Harry Maguire was dropped in August. The England international is currently out with a hamstring injury but will struggle to win his place back when he returns to fitness. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez should therefore line-up at the heart of the United backline once again for the trip to the capital.
Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw will be hoping to appear in the full-backs positions after impressing in recent weeks. And Ten Hag could give them the nod once again if he doesn’t think they need a rest.

Forwards – Antony, Rashford, Sancho
Ronaldo wouldn’t have started against Chelsea even if he hadn’t thrown his strop on Wednesday night. Instead, Marcus Rashford would have almost certainly been chosen to lead the line. And the England international should therefore keep his place, with Anthony Martial still unavailable.
Rashford could be flanked by Antony, who has scored three goals in five Premier League matches since joining the club from Ajax in the summer, as well as ex-Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
