A 20-year-old man has died after being stabbed in a South London park. The man was stabbed at 10.20pm on Fairfield Road, Kingston, while inside the nearby Fairfield Park. He reportedly then staggered to the nearby Albion pub, before Police, LAS and London Air Ambulance arrived.
He sadly died on the scene, emergency services have confirmed.
Authorities have since closed off the area, and forensics officers have arrived.
Officers have also started investigating, with the Evening Standard reporting that police are now going door to door.
A witness told the publication people in the area are “in shock” and praised efforts to help the victim.
They said: “He was stabbed in the park and made it to the pub where people attempted to save his life.
“He died later. We are all in shock around here. The people in the pub did their best.”
The Met Police are currently informing next of kin, and have said they will increase their presence while enquiries are ongoing.
The Met said: “An investigation is underway and local residents should expect to see an increased police presence in the area as enquiries continue.”
