National Highways: North-West tweeted the news shortly after 6am and said one lane remained shut on the southbound stretch of the road near Sandbach Services.
It said: “The #M6 southbound #SandbachServices (#Sandbach #BetweenJ17andJ16) to #J16 (#StokeOnTrent #Crewe #Nantwich #A500) 1 lane has been closed due to a collision. Traffic Officers & Recovery are on their way to the area.”
