Lewis Hamilton was downbeat as he gave his verdict on Max Verstappen’s chances of securing the title this weekend. The Mercedes star stressed it was bad when the championship gets decided early, admitting he never enjoyed it when he clinched his own crowns ahead of the finale.
Speaking at the press conference, Hamilton said: “It’s never great when the season finishes early. Even when I’ve experienced having it finish early in places like Mexico.”
Verstappen can win the championship this weekend if he extends his advantage to 138 points. However, this will only be possible if Verstappen wins the race and both Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc struggle.
