With electric cars still very expensive upfront this could be a barrier for adoption for many younger road users.
Roger Griggs, Communications Director of Kwik Fit said learner drivers were desperate to “reduce their environmental impact”.
They added learners clearly saw their “motoring future as electric” with a strong desire to switch as soon as possible.
He said: “This research shows that learner drivers are wanting to reduce their environmental impact wherever possible and clearly see their motoring future as being electric, but are also conscious of their motoring costs in the shorter term.
