Long live the breakfast radio king! Kyle And Jackie O are toppled from the top spot as 2GB rival Ben Fordham wins ratings battle
Breakfast radio royalty Kyle And Jackie O have been dethroned by AM station 2GB’s Ben Fordham in the latest Sydney ratings.
The KIIS FM had been named the most popular breakfast show across both AM and FM bandwidths in June, but the new figures show Fordham has snatched back his crown.
Fordham now has the leading share in the breakfast market with 16.8 per cent, having increased by an impressive 3.5 points in the latest ratings period.

Coming in second was ABC Radio’s Wendy Harmer and Robbie Buck at 14 percent market share.
Kyle And Jackie O clocked in at third place with 12.1 percent after tumbling by 3.4 points.
The result is nothing short of a coup for Fordham, who took over 2GB’s breakfast show from Alan Jones a year ago.
Despite the outcome, Kyle And Jackie O are still celebrating their domination of the FM bandwidth, having beaten their nearest rival WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda by 3.3 percent.
The latest ratings also marks Kyle And Jackie O’s 20th consecutive No. 1 spot on the FM bandwidth.
Nova FM’s Fitzy and Wippa meanwhile suffered a lacklustre outcome with 6.1 percentage share, while 2Day’s Morning Crew featuring Dave Hughes, Ed Kavalee and Erin Molan languished at the bottom of the ratings with just 2.4 percent.
‘Talk radio can and does make a difference in people’s lives,’ 2GB executive Greg Byrnes told The Daily Telegraph.
‘Across the talk radio network our strategy of live and local content is delivering with total audience up almost seven per cent,’ he said of the ratings surge during lockdown.
