Kwasi Kwarteng vowed he’s “not going anywhere” as he pledged to get Britain’s economy growing this afternoon.
Speaking in Washington DC where he is holding meetings with the International Monetary Fund, the Chancellor admitted there had been “some turbulence” following his mini-budget tax cuts last month.
However, he shrugged off suggestions his job is at risk, confidently saying both he and Prime Minister Liz Truss would still be in post this time next month.
“Absolutely. 100 percent. I’m not going anywhere,” he said, committing to fulfilling the Government’s plan to get the economy growing by 2.5 percent.
“I am totally focused on the growth agenda.”
