Kelly Clarkson snags two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host

Kelly Clarkson picked up two more Daytime Emmy awards on Friday June 25 for her talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show. 

Despite it only being the show’s second season on air, the 39-year-old singer and TV personality continued to add to her collection of awards, having snagged one at the ceremony last year. 

The now four-time winner accepted her two awards — one for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and another for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host — virtually, and the show also picked up a third for Outstanding Sound Mixing.

The host and producer of the NBC show beat out The Drew Barrymore Show, Live With Kelly & Ryan, and the Today Show with Hoda & Jena at the 48th annual ceremony hosted by The Talk’s Sheryl Underwood. 

Additionally in the Entertainment Talk Show category Kelly also beat out The Ellen DeGeneres Show — a very telling feat especially since she is set to take over the disgraced talk show host’s prime slot in 2022. 

In the hosting category The Voice judge also beat out the same programs — with the exception of Ellen Degeneres who was not nominated for Entertainment Host — with Hot Ones host Sean Evans rounding out the group instead.

Two seasons: Despite only being on air for two seasons she has now snagged four Daytime Emmys in total and she accepted the awards virtually

Another one: In addition to her two awards the production won for Outstanding Sound Mixing

Kelly and the show were also nominated for Outstanding Original Song for ‘Cabana Boy Troy,’ Outstanding Lighting Direction, and Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration.

In her speech Kelly said: ‘Thank you so much everybody for voting for me. I would love to accept the award just for me but honestly, I think everybody that’s ever done a show like this knows, there’s a whole heap of people standing around behind the cameras. 

‘…And our staff and making me look good and sound good and getting these brilliant stories, and heartfelt stories that we get to share with everybody, and thank you to my band…I thank you for the award but honestly like so many people are deserving of this — not just me.’   

On top: After her success this year, Clarkson was tapped to replace DeGeneres’ prime daytime slot in 2022 after the disgraced host announced her show would be ending next summer
