Disturbing footage has emerged online of England’s Chief Medical Officer Prof Chris Whitty being harassed by two men as he walked near St James’ Park. The men grabbed Professor Whitty, who looked visibly concerned by the assault before he managed to free himself and walk away. Sky News presenter Kay Burley was shocked when she noted a police vehicle could be seen parked in the background of the footage.
Ms Burley said: “The men in this video should be ashamed.
“More than that, you can see them quite clearly so I am guessing the police will have something to say about that.
“Chris Whitty being assaulted as he minded his own business walking around.
“There was a police van there, did you see that?
“There is a police vehicle in the back of that shot.
“That is something we will be looking at in a bit more detail.”
