Katie Price is suffering terrifying nightmares and flashbacks after she was assaulted at her home earlier this week.
Police were called to the TV personality’s home at around 1.30am on Monday, where a man was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour.
The mother-of-five has been left ‘tormented’ in the wake of an incident and has beefed up security at her home – where she is not currently staying.

Despite this, the 43-year-old model has been struggling to process the incident, with a source telling MailOnline: ‘Katie is in a terrible state at the moment.
‘She has woken up more than once after having nightmares about what happened.
‘She keeps getting flashbacks and keeps replaying what went on over and over again. It is tormenting her which is really sad to see. Her friends are doing their best to rally round.’
Following the assault, a man, 32, was released on bail after he was arrested for assault and coercive control over the attack.
Despite the support of her loved ones, Katie still ‘doesn’t feel safe’, and has been beefing up the security at her home in the wake of her attack.

She will, however, attend her first public event on Friday night in order to ‘show face’.
The model will present an honour at the British LGBT Awards in London.
‘Katie is nervous but at the same time she is determined to get out there and show her face,’ the insider explained.
‘Her friends have told her she has nothing to be ashamed of and they hope the event will be the first step on the road to recovery.’

It was previously reported that Katie ‘cannot face’ the prospect of a court appearance, yet a source close to the star said friends and family have rallied around her to ensure she has the strength to pursue a conviction.
An insider told MailOnline on Thursday: ‘It’s not true that she is dropping the case, but she is very scared and and is feeling emotionally vulnerable.
‘All her friends and family are behind her and will make sure she has the strength to pursue the case, so she is going full steam ahead.’
On Tuesday, the day after the assault, Katie was pictured with bruises to her face and told The Sun: ‘I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated. I ran away after being punched — I ran to Harvey’s house nearby and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured.’
Katie said she was attacked as she watched TV – forcing her to flee in terror to her eldest son’s nearby home.
She said the alleged assault was ‘unprovoked’, adding: ‘I was just sitting there watching telly when the assault happened.’
An Essex Police spokesman said on Tuesday: ‘A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour has been released on bail until September 20.’

Neighbours said they heard ‘loads of shouting and screaming’ on the night the model was rushed to hospital.
One neighbour told MailOnline: ‘There was something kicking off because I heard loads of shouting and screaming. It was definitely going off.
‘It was anti social and sounded like a load of p***heads coming back from the pub. There was a real kerfuffle.
‘Then I saw a car parked across the road for ages. Around half an hour after that I heard loads of talking.
‘I came downstairs to see what was going, but I don’t know what time it was because I didn’t have my phone with me. I didn’t see or hear any cops. I didn’t see any blue lights.’
Another said: ‘We heard an argument at about 11pm. I didn’t hear anything at 1.30am when the police were supposed to have been called because I was asleep.
‘I know that Katie Price had been living next door. I don’t think I had heard any big arguments before last night.’

Meanwhile, Katie is no longer on Instagram and has been subjected to vile abuse from online trolls in the wake of her assault.
In recent days Katie’s social media has been inundated with horrific messages, including some claiming her assault must be a publicity stunt.
Katie last posted on social media on Sunday when she shared an image taken by her fiancé Carl Woods that showed the pair posing with her youngest children Jett, eight, and Bunny, seven.
The image was captioned: ‘Family time’ with a heart.
Katie also revealed the family had spent the some time staying in Carl’s home as she shared a picture of Bunny cradling their pet dog, with the caption: ‘Excuse the mess we are doing Carl’s house up but how cute does bunny look with buddy ❤️’.
The family time came moments before the couple took to Instagram to hit back at trolls who accused Carl of using Katie for her money.
After Carl shared the family snap, one user commented: ‘Thought you guys broke up?’, to which Carl responded, ‘never believe what you read mate’.
As another user then penned: ‘he only wants her muni wen shes clearly broke shes got no muni [sic], Carl fired back, ‘Andy knows I got enough doe. So don’t worry about me. Guys known me for 20years’, he added, ‘mate. This world full of mugs. You know me mate.’
Katie then jumped in to defend her partner, writing: ‘ what you on about? @carljwoods pays and has his own money you d**k’.

Katie and Carl began dating in June 2020 and announced their engagement in April , just six weeks after Katie’s divorce from her third husband Kieran Hayler was finalised.
The couple have also revealed their desire to have children together, with Katie admitting she is looking into IVF to have her sixth child.
The former glamour model is mum to son Harvey, 18, with her footballer ex Dwight Yorke, and co-parents her children Junior, 15, Princess, 13, with ex-husband Peter Andre.
