Kate Middleton and Prince William have been married for more than 10 years and have spent much of this time meeting with the public. During more recent appearances, the Duchess of Cambridge has changed how she speaks.
The 39-year-old has been no stranger to public engagements over the last 10 years.
She is often found speaking on behalf of the monarch or attending engagement both by herself and with other royals.
Last year, members of the Royal Family switched to virtual engagements during the coronavirus lockdowns in the UK.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Elroy Powell, speech expert and voice over artist at Spoon’s Voice, claimed Kate’s speech was different during that time.
“Last year we were all hit by the magnitude of uncertainty wrapped up in the first announcements of the pandemic,” the expert stated.
“There is a strong sense of this in appearances by the Duchess of Cambridge in her virtual engagements from early 2020.
“Body language is the biggest giveaway. When with Prince William he often throws a reassuring glance to silently offer support when she speaks.”
The expert suggested Kate gauged the mood of the nation and used a sympathetic tone.

Royal fans also saw a more “sombre” side to the Duchess of Cambridge.
“For Kate, there’s also head leaning which studies suggest indicates mental activity especially when puzzling over something,” Elroy continued.
“She has a sombre tone when sharing and at times seems to search for the appropriate words.
“This is of course expected given the circumstances.”
He said: “Fast forward a few months on, the energy is so different.
“With a warm, fluid and engaging tone, there is much more confidence when interacting and issuing assurance.”
As coronavirus restrictions ease, Kate and Prince William have mixed virtual engagements with public appearances.
They have spoken out both with each other and by themselves.
