John Steffensen FAINTS mid-air and soars to the ground unconscious during daring helicopter challenge on SAS Australia
During Tuesday’s episode of SAS Australia, John Steffensen fainted mid air.
The recruits were tasked with a challenge which ended with them being airlifted by a helicopter.
John went up with footballer Sam Burgess, but once they were in the air, things went wrong.

As the helicopter flew the pair high in the air, John began to struggle.
‘Take us down! Take us down!’ he screamed, sounding panicked as he see-sawed far above the earth.
John went silent as they were lowered, before the awful truth was revealed.

Once hit with the cold air, John felt he could not catch his breath, and fainted.
Later, he sat alongside Sam, recovering and drinking water from his canteen, and appeared to be feeling better.
