Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were back on BBC Breakfast on Saturday to share with BBC viewers the latest headlines and developments in the ongoing race for Number 10 Downing Street. As is standard for Saturday’s edition of the show, the pair also spoke with Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt to see what he had in store for his programme. However, Naga and Matt found themselves in a cheeky back and forth prior to the popular cooking show.
“Of course, Saturday Kitchen follows us at 10am this morning,” Naga teed up.
She continued: “I don’t know what drama is in store but Matt Tebbutt is going to tell us all about it.
“How are you doing?” Naga asked as she began exchanging pleasantries before Matt replied: “Hi, how are you guys?”
“Yeah, really well, thank you, really well,” Naga before Matt insisted Saturday Kitchen would be drama-free.

Matt continued: “Oh, good, good. No dramas today, no dramas don’t worry about that.
“I mean it is live,” he added before Naga spotted the chance to poke fun at her BBC colleague.
“Oh well, make it exciting at least, eh?” Naga said, rather tongue in cheek.
Naga’s jibe prompted the Saturday Kitchen frontman to hit back: “It will be exciting! It’s always exciting Naga, jeez!”
But when Matt asked her idea of Food Hell, Dawn bluntly replied: “Liver and onions.”
She explained: “It’s gross. I want to like it, I think the smell is delicious. Whenever anyone orders it I think, ‘That’s it, I’m gonna have it’.
“But I just can’t, I just can’t with the offal,” Dawn added before Matt quipped: “Okay, well you’re wrong.”
Matt then turned to the chefs and drinks experts also joining him before winking at the camera and assuring: “There you have it, no drama, see you at 10.”
“Matt, thanks very much,” Charlie replied while Naga simply signed off: “Thanks, Matt. Have a good one.”
Elsewhere on Saturday’s show, Naga opened up about a mishap with her contact lenses which left her in the hospital.
After reading a news report of a woman who found 23 contact lenses lodged behind her eye, Naga opened up about her own “painful” experience of something similar.
BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
