‘Lockdown life’: Jasmine Stefanovic shares an update from hotel quarantine in Brisbane after getting an exemption to travel from Sydney to see a ‘really sick’ family member

Jasmine Stefanovic (née Yarbrough) has provided a look into her life in hotel quarantine after travelling to Queensland with her one-year-old daughter Harper.

The 37-year-old flew to Brisbane to see her ‘very sick’ grandmother after receiving an exemption from Queensland Health, as revealed by her husband and Today show host Karl Stefanovic on Thursday.

The shoe designer shared two photos on Instagram Stories from quarantine at the Marriott Hotel in Brisbane.

The first image saw little Harper peering through their hotel window inquisitively to look at the adjacent skyscrapers.

‘Lockdown life,’ Jasmine captioned the photo.

The next post showed a gift box Jasmine had received from chef Dion Giannarelli, which included ciabatta sourdough bread, nuts, chocolate and wine.

‘Surprise delivery, thank you @diongiannarelli, you little legend,’ she wrote.

Jasmine travelled to Queensland to see her ill grandmother, who is in her nineties and to whom she is ‘incredibly close.’

The Today show broadcast a photo yesterday that Jasmine took of Harper watching The Wiggles on an iPad in their suite as they began their 14 days of quarantine.

Karl shed some light on what was happening after being asked by his co-hosts why his wife had travelled to interstate.

‘So she’s had to go to Brisbane because her very dear, dear Nan, who she’s incredibly close with, is really, really, really sick,’ he explained.

Karl said it wasn’t ‘easy’ and that ‘this is going on with families right around the country’ during Covid.

He also praised Queensland Health for providing Jasmine with a travel exemption.

‘I know families are making these decisions because these are special times and they’re hard times for loved ones who are sick,’ he said.
