“The point we are making is when you have a 70-year-high tax burden putting up taxes even further is not going to help stimulate economic growth,” the minister explained.
“The Prime Minister has been absolutely clear she is looking to stimulate economic growth, that’s what pays people’s wages and keeps people in employment and that is what generates the tax revenues the Government spends on those essential public services.”
However, Reid cut in and fumed: “What I am asking is, can people be certain when they listen to government ministers that what they are saying is what is going to happen?”
The MP did not give a clear answer but told ITV viewers the Prime Minister has been “absolutely clear” on her plans.
