Release date for Hugo Weaving’s new Australian drama Love Me is finally revealed – as the actor discusses his long-awaited television comeback
Love Me will debut on Australian TV screens this Boxing Day, December 26.
The Hugo Weaving-starring drama is the first original series by streaming service Binge, and all six episodes will be uploaded in one day.
The series will co-star Bojana Novakovic and William Lodder.

Love Me is based on the Swedish series Älska mig, created by Josephine Bornebusch.
In a statement about the series, Weaving said, ‘Love Me is a wonderful celebration of family, love, and personal liberation set in contemporary Melbourne.
‘I hugely enjoyed playing the dutiful, recessive Glen Mathieson, father to Clara and Aaron, as he finds himself navigating a course through grief into the excitement of an unexpected and transformative love.
‘Working with Director Emma Freeman was an absolute delight.’

Love Me promises to explore modern love as experienced by different family members at different stages of life.
Binge’s Executive Director Alison Hurbert-Burns added: ‘We can’t wait for Love Me, Binge’s first original series – proudly shot in Melbourne and made in Australia to launch on Boxing Day.
‘The incredibly talented cast and creative teams have done an amazing job of bringing this story to life, and in time for Australians to enjoy this summer and over the Christmas holiday period.’

Love Me is Weaving’s first time in an Australian production since the 2019 film Hearts and Bones.
His last Australian TV series was 2017’s Seven Types of Ambiguity.
On the big screen, Hugo’s movies have grossed in excess of $4 billion at the box office following a string of hits including The Matrix and the Lord of the Rings trilogies.
