As people around the world celebrated Father’s Day on Monday, Australian actor Hugh Sheridan paid tribute to his late father, Denis.
Sharing a picture alongside his dad – who passed away aged 76 after a battle with cancer last month – Hugh, 35, penned a sweet message.
‘Happy Fathers Day to my best friend and my dad. I miss you, naturally, no more yesterday, than I do today or I will tomorrow,’ the Packed To The Rafters star wrote.

Hugh also revealed he was missing his family back home in Australia as he’d recently returned to Los Angeles for work.
‘Lucky to have known you, not as lucky to be so far away from the family, alone again. #working #usa #losangeles #nofamily #coulduseahug,’ he added.
Along with the throwback picture, Hugh also shared heart-breaking footage of himself singing at his father’s funeral.
In the footage, funeral attendees can be heard sobbing, while a determined Hugh powers through his rendition of Jazz tune The Curtain Falls by Bobby Darin.

Last month, Hugh shared his first heartfelt tribute in memory of his late father.
Denis had been receiving palliative care at Mary Potter Hospice in North Adelaide shortly before his death.
Sharing the news to his Instagram account, Hugh wrote, ‘be free papa’, alongside a section of the poem ‘Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone’ by W H Auden, which was memorably recited in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral.

‘He was my North, my South, my East and West,’ a section of the poem reads.
‘My working week and my Sunday rest… My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song.’
The actor also shared a photograph of his father as a child and a second photograph of a rainbow.
Hugh’s post was quickly inundated with well-wishes from his celebrity friends.

Meanwhile, good friend Rebel Wilson said: ‘Thinking of you and your family.’
Denis’ terminal cancer diagnosis was the main reason why Hugh proposed to his boyfriend Kurt Roberts in March.
Sadly, he died before seeing his son get married.
