Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been warned that “someone else is going to benefit” from their Frogmore Cottage “investment”. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s UK residence in Windsor became a focal point after the Royal Family published their annual financial accounts. HeirPod host and ABC royal contributor Omid Scobie broke down what it showed for the former working royals.
He told listeners: “The Sussexes returned £2.4million for the refurbishment of their official UK residence.
“But the report also revealed that they also paid their rent at the property until March 2022.
“Although they did pay for the refurbishment, they don’t technically own the property.
“I’m not sure how great that is as an investment.”

Mr Scobie continued: “Generally, with rental properties, you don’t want to spend too much because someone else is going to benefit from it.”
The host went on to address how Meghan and Harry ended up doing the monarchy a huge favour.
He explained: “The Sussexes did also feature in the Buckingham Palace finance reports, but for good reasons.
“The Queen had had to approve savings of close £10million to cover the impact of the pandemic.”
The host stressed that this had become an “important figure to note in the financial report”.
The Sussexes are currently living in California with their two children.
Since officially stepping down in 2020, only Harry has been back in the UK.
The Duke attended Prince Philip’s funeral in April and is also back now to take part in the statue unveiling for his mother, Princess Diana.
Both times, Harry has stayed at Frogmore during his visits.
