Girl, 15, dies in hospital four days after being injured at go kart centre

    The Met and London Ambulance Service were called to Capital Karts in Barking, east London, on Friday. The 15-year-old was taken to a major trauma centre in east London. She died on Tuesday.

    London’s largest police force stressed it is “liaising with health and safety officials from the local council” as part of an investigation.

    The London Ambulance Service said it was called to the Rippleside Commercial Estate at 2.23pm on Friday.

    The emergency service added: “We sent a number of resources including an ambulance, medics in response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.

    “We also dispatched London’s air ambulance.

    “We treated a person at the scene before taking them to a London major trauma centre.”

    A spokesman from the Metropolitan Police added: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 3pm on Friday to reports of an injured teenager at commercial premises on Ripple Road in Barking.

    The Metropolitan Police will continue with its inquiries.
