Prince Harry grew “frustrated” with the limitations of his role in the Royal Family, according to commentators. The Duke of Sussex’s tensions with his brother, Prince William, were explored in a new ITV documentary, ‘Harry and William: What Went Wrong?’. Harry’s partnership with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was discussed to examine the root causes of the ongoing rift between the two royal brothers.

Narrator Frances Barber added: “But increasingly Harry felt frustrated with his supporting role.”

Daily Telegraph Associate Editor Camilla Tominey gave further insight: “I think when you’re the spare to the heir, there’s perhaps more of a sense of urgency.

“Wanting to make your life count before your brother’s children push you further and further down the pecking order.

“There was a lot of talk, even before Meghan was on the scene, of Harry saying, ‘Why can’t I do this?'”

The Duke told the US host that he wouldn’t have been able to leave without his wife.

He claimed that he “didn’t see a way out”.

Harry said: “I was trapped, but I didn’t know I was trapped.

“Trapped within the system, like the rest of my family are.

“My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that.”
