With thousands of new products available from sellers all across the world, eBay is one of the most popular online retailers globally. From today onwards, eBay have launched a new shop onsite where customers can buy from small businesses and support local communities.

Known as one of the biggest e-commerce sites, eBay has just launched eBay for Change.

eBay for Change is a new dedicated hub on eBay’s marketplace that allows customers to shop from 50 small businesses.

Each purchase they make from eBay for Change has a direct, positive impact on supporting a variety of social causes and helping disadvantaged communities.

From providing job training to tackling social problems like homelessness or social action, there are several causes that shoppers can help support when they spend online.

eBay has partnered with Social Enterprise UK and World Fair Trade Organisation to help deliver the programme and give support to small businesses through training.

Rob Hattrell, SVP Head of Europe, eBay said: “With eBay for Change, our customers will receive a great product, as well as the satisfaction that the proceeds from their purchase will make a real difference and support communities – empowering economic opportunity in new ways to create a better future for all.”

According to a report from eBay UK, 81 percent of UK adults have changed the way they shop since the pandemic.

In addition, 56 percent of adults surveyed are now spending more consciously and aim to buy from small businesses.

From home decor and toys to food and beverage, there are lots of categories that shoppers can browse and buy from.

Discover new sellers with dedicated causes including The Good Wash Company, a health and beauty brand that supports rural employment.

Mandy Powell, founder of The Goodwash Company, said: “Social impact is at the heart of everything we do at Good Wash. Apart from a fabulous product, people can also be extra proud knowing that their purchase is doing so much good for the community.”
