The Duke of Cambridge launched the Earthshot Prize awards tonight and issued a passionate rallying call for youngsters not to give up hope in this “decisive decade”. He urged people to feel “inspired and to act and demand”.
He said: “What a night this has been. I hope everyone watching understands more about the urgent challenges facing our planet this decisive decade.
“I hope that our Earthshot winners have shown you there is no place for despair.
“You should feel inspired to act and demand solutions you have seen tonight get all the support they need.
“I want to say something to all the young people watching tonight.
“For too long we have not done enough to protect the planet for your future, but Earthshot is for you.”
