A Wolverhampton laboratory is under investigation following reports that people had received negative PCR test results after they had previously tested positive on a lateral flow device. The Immensa Health Clinic lab in Wolverhampton had processed 400,000 coronavirus test samples, according to estimates from NHS Test and Trace.
Between 8 September and 12 October, an estimated 43,000 people may have been given incorrect results from the lab.
According to reports from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), most of these were in the South West of England.
