‘Corporate Karen’ says ‘smelly’ tradies should be kept ‘out of sight’ at offices and banned from using the same elevators as white-collar workers – leaving Kyle and Jackie O horrified
A argument between white-collar and blue-collar workers blew up live on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday morning.
A ‘corporate Karen’ – known only as Susan – called in to complain about ‘smelly’ tradies, saying they should be kept ‘be out of sight’ when visiting offices and even banned from using the main elevators.
Unsurprisingly, one after the other, callers rang in to slam Susan for her shocking and classist remarks.

Susan, who is an office worker, said tradies milling around are a ‘wrong look for a company, especially when prospective clients are coming in’.
She claimed the ‘smells, the dirt, how loud they talk, the swearing, the leering at women’ are off-putting to white-collar types.
Susan even suggested tradesmen in her building could ‘use the stairs’ to get around instead of the elevators, or preferably visit the office ‘after hours’.

‘Oh, you meanie!’ said host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, who was appalled by the remarks.
‘Poor tradies getting ostracised and segregated from society because they don’t look good.’
As Susan continued to rattle off her issues with tradesmen, Kyle Sandilands asked her to give a specific example of a ‘tradie conversation’ she’s overheard that irked her.
‘[Conversations] sexual in nature,’ replied Susan, adding:. ‘I remove myself from the situation, but why should I do that in my work area?’

Jackie pointed out that tradesmen are essential to maintaining office buildings, but Susan brushed this off and said she didn’t ‘feel bad’ for disliking them.
The KIIS FM breakfast hosts then opened the floor to callers.
Tradesman Adrian rang up calling Susan a ‘stupid pen pusher’ and ‘an idiot’.
‘We’re working hard and all you’re doing is pushing a pen and typing on a computer,’ he said, getting increasingly fired up.
‘You need to get your nose out of a**e and smell the roses,’ said Patricia, a woman married to a tradesman. ‘You need to keep your mouth shut.’
‘You are such a f**king knob,’ shouted another tradesman. ‘Tradies are the backbone of this country.’

Enraged: Frustrated tradesmen called in to slam Susan, with blue-collar worker Adrian calling her ‘an idiot,’ and a ‘pen pusher’. Another said that tradies were ‘the backbone of this country’
