The drugs have so far only been tested on hamsters and cell cultures.
Although this does not mean the same results can be replicated in humans, the researchers believe this is a good sign.
And the tests have so far shown only small doses of the combined drugs are need to fight Covid.
Aleksandr Ianevski, a doctoral research fellow affiliated with the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine, said: “The low doses of the drugs in combination may have several clinical advantages, including fewer adverse events and improved outcomes for patients.”
