‘She’s back!’ Cheeky Kate Langbroek can’t resist making a dirty joke about co-host Peter Helliar on The Project

Kate Langbroek couldn’t resist making a crude joke at the expense of her colleague, Peter Helliar, during Thursday’s episode of The Project.

The show’s panelists were talking about their co-host, Waleed Aly, getting his coronavirus vaccine, with the 42-year-old claiming he felt no pain.

‘Well, you know what? You work with Pete Helliar every night, you’re used to a little prick!’ deadpanned Kate, 55.

After registering her joke, a good-humoured Pete, 45, burst out laughing and added: ‘She’s back! You had two seconds off!’

Pete clarified that he’s ‘actually a big prick to be honest’, as Waleed tried in vain to encourage others to get vaccinated.

‘If Kate doesn’t have any more dirty puns we’ll throw to a break,’ Waleed concluded.

Waleed explained that he was eligible for his COVID vaccine, and confessed he was ‘so psyched up for this moment’.

But he said when it actually rolled around, it was ‘almost underwhelming because I felt almost nothing’.

‘I don’t think there was any pain at all. I feel completely normal now,’ Waleed told his co-panelists.

He added that it was ‘a really important message’ for others to go and get vaccinated, and acknowledged that many ethnic groups were apprehensive.

But Waleed insisted that ‘there’s nothing to be scared of and you’re really doing a great service for yourselves and your community’.

A seemingly sceptical Kate then urged viewers to ‘check in that he’s here every night for the next week’ after others reported feeling ill after getting the vaccine.
