Channel Nine’s Parental Guidance takes top spot in TV ratings – trouncing Seven’s Big Brother VIP

Channel Nine’s confronting new show Parental Guidance appears to have captured the prime time audience on Monday.

A five city metro audience of 604,000 tuned in to watch mums and dads with very different child-rearing techniques discuss and dissect each other’ s parenting styles, easily winning the 7:30pm time slot.

Meanwhile, in the same time slot over on rival network Channel Seven, Big Brother VIP recorded 363,000 viewers who watched the celebrities become emotional while discussing their struggles.

It seems Caitlyn Jenner’s discussion of the continuing tension between herself and ex-wife Kris wasn’t enough to bring in the audiences.

By the close of the episode, Big Brother called a flash eviction – locking the housemates in a lift until one of them was voted out.

Caitlyn offered herself up for eviction, telling her co-stars that she needs to get back to her campaigning efforts for governor of California.
