    Celebrity chef Stefano Manfredi finally sells his rural retreat on the NSW mid-north coast for $2.2 million after two years on the market


    Stefano Manfredi finally sold his retreat on the NSW mid-north coast after two years on the market.

    According to Realestate.com.au, the chef had an initial asking price of $3.3million but managed to settle a deal for $2.2 million.

    The corrugated iron-clad beach house has been designed by Luigi Rosselli and sits on 3.3ha of land.

    The property features four bedrooms as well as a separate studio.

    It also has large glass windows which offer incredible views across the valley to the ocean at Scotts Head.

    The spacious kitchen is also complete with concrete benchtops.

    Stefano is one of Australia’s most renown chefs and is best known as the ‘godfather’ of modern Italian cuisine.

    He was born in the Lombardy region of northern Italy and moved to Australia when he was just seven.

    In 1983, Stefano opened his first establishment named The Restaurant in Ultimo. It was later renamed The Restaurant Manfredi.

    Stefano has been living in Italy during the coronavirus pandemic.

    He told The Daily Telegraph in August last year, he didn’t step outside his home for two months.

    ‘For two months, there were ambulances, the sirens of ambulances, night and day continually because Brescia was almost as bad as Bergamo,’ he said.

    ‘You couldn’t have funerals, there were army trucks of caskets going past because the morgues were all full here, so they were taking them south.’
