Carol Vorderman was feeling reflective on Tuesday as she shared a throwback photo aged 24 from her first wedding to ex Christopher Mather.
The TV personality, 60, looked almost unrecognisable in the black-and-white photo which was taken during her nuptials to the Royal Navy officer in 1985 at Saint Urban’s Church in Headingley, Leeds.
Appearing to poke fun at their short-lived marriage, they later split in 1986, Carol joked on her Instagram Story: ‘It didn’t last… oops!’

In the photo, which she captioned ‘cute bride’, a young Carol looked radiant as she wore a white ruffled off-the-shoulder gown with a floral headpiece.
The presenter beamed to the camera while her ex-husband Christopher donned his Royal Navy uniform and kissed her cheek.
Carol also shared a screenshot of an article where she previously shared some of the details from her first wedding, which included changing into an ‘entirely mesh [gown] with sequins in all the right places’ and dancing to It’s Raining Men.
The TV personality joked: ‘6 hours later… out of the borrowed white thing and into a see through number from the show 321 [crying laughing emojis].

Appearing to take a swipe at their short-lived nuptials, Carol quipped: ‘It didn’t last… oops!’ followed by a thumbs up and thinking emoji.
The star previously spoke about her first wedding to BBC Radio Wales, saying at the time: ‘I was wearing a dress, right, you know the days when you had the white dress for the day, for the big thing itself.’
Talking about her outfit change later in the evening, Carol said that she took a frock from the 3-2-1, a former 80s game show, costume department.

She continued: ‘I went into the 321 costume department – remember 321 with Ted [Rogers]. And I found a frock to wear at night time – it was like something they now wear in Strictly Come Dancing.
‘It was entirely mesh with sequins in the right places. So I had this thing that was probably not appropriate for a bride and I got on the stage and sang It’s Raining Men.’
After the end of her marriage to Christopher, Carol married Patrick King from 1990 until 2000, with the couple sharing children Katie, 30, and Cameron, 24.

The former Countdown presenter admitted that she was swamped with messages from both men and women when she gave it a brief try.
Carol told The Sun: ‘A mate of mine said it would be a laugh. A lot of LA people made contact, men and women funnily enough, but it’s not my scene.
‘I’m quite happy with my usual way of doing things. But life is never dull.’

And speaking about growing more confident with age, Carol said: ‘Young women beat themselves up about being perfect and there is no such thing.
‘They compare themselves. And you get to an age where you go “just enjoy it, smile and enjoy it”.

Carol has often spoken about her love life, saying in January that she feels ‘positively sick’ at the thought of being in another relationship.
The star, whose former flames include pilot Graham Duff, who she split from in 2016, and PR consultant Des Kelly, who she parted from in 2007, said she’s ‘VERY happy as a badly behaved singleton’
She told The Telegraph: ‘The thought of sharing my life with someone again makes me feel positively sick.’
Carol was married to Christopher from 1985 to 1986 and then to Patrick from 1990 until 2000, with the couple sharing children Katie and Cameron.
Since then Carol has been linked to PR consultant Des, whom she dated for five years, and pilot Graham, known as Duffy, who was 14 years younger than her.
They split in 2014 however rekindled their romance in 2015. They parted ways once more in 2016.
Despite not being with anyone in more recent years, Carol has been busy with work commitments.
She said: ‘I’ve had nearly four decades of working six or seven days a week and now I just want to do the bits I want to do. I have a ridiculously happy and absurd life.’
