Meghan Markle and Prince Harry graced the cover for Time’s 100 most influential people on Thursday. However, attention quickly turned to the “heavily airbrushed” photos of the couple, with one royal expert claiming the images were strategically planned out by the Duke and Duchess. The Mail on Sunday’s diarist Charlotte Griffiths claimed to Palace Confidential Britons could “see right through it and see that it’s strategic”.
She said: “They’re very strategic people. She’s got her wide-legged stance going on.
“She’s ‘wearing the trousers’. I can’t take this stuff as seriously as the Americans can.
“The Americans lap this kind of stuff up but I just can’t.
“I don’t know if it’s something about being British, or being unsentimental.”

Ms Griffiths continued: “But, we can see right through it and see that it’s strategic.
“We don’t do earnest very well!”
The couple, who now live in California, made the Time 100 list for their charity work with their Archewell Foundation.
Chef José Andrés, who is a close friend of the pair, nominated the couple.
In turn, the couple nominated economist Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the first African and first woman to lead the WTO, for the list.
They wrote: “What will it take to vaccinate the world? Unity, cooperation – and leaders like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.”
Time magazine’s cover picture of the Duke and Duchess prompted both praise and ridicule from corners on social media.
Gráinne Maguire tweeted: “This looks like Harry is her hairdresser and he’s looking into the mirror explaining what he did to her layers.”
US conservative pundit Candace Owens added: “I honestly cannot. The live emasculation of Prince Harry continues.
“I would never want my husband to be embarrassed like this in front of the world. Just so pathetic.”
