Until now, Mr Macron has been harsh on the UK, threatening to stop British trawlers from docking in ports and threatening to put more customs checks on goods unless Britain grants France more fishing licences.
However, Officials in Paris have said that France has finally decided to give in as European countries will need the UKs military if they are going to stop relying on the US.
A source told the Daily Mail: “We cannot rely on Italy, Spain and Germany. The president knows that, whichever way you cut it, there can be no European defence without the British.”
