Boy, 15, dies after sudden collapse in front of family and friends in restaurant

    A teenage boy collapsed in front of his horrified family and friends at a popular Browns restaurant and later died. The 15-year-old was tended to by both members of the public and staff during the shocking incident. While he was rushed to hospital, he died shortly afterwards, the Liverpool ECHO reports.

    Emergency services raced to the scene at the popular restaurant in the Liverpool ONE complex at just before 6pm, but despite swiftly carrying him to Royal Liverpool University Hospital, were not able to save his life.

    A white tent was visible in the outside dining area of the restaurant during the event. It was also cordoned off, with police standing guard.

    The boy has yet to be formally identified, the force said.

    “The teenager was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital where sadly he died a short time later. The death is not believed to be suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the Coroner.

    “Next of kin have been spoken to and specialist officers are supporting the family at this tragic time.

    “Formal identification is still to take place.”
