The SNP Westminster leader took to wish Scotland the best in the Euros as it begins this weekend. Ian Blackford made a rallying cry during Prime Minister’s Questions but was shut down by Boris Johnson who mocked him for not including other nations. Mr Johnson had Commons in stitches as he remarked on the blunder.
Speaking in Commons, Mr Blackford said: “I’m sure we’re all looking forward to the European Championships kicking off later this week.
“Can I take the opportunity to wish all the best to our country Scotland to Steve Clarke and the team and to remind the time it is time for heroes?”
In response, Mr Johnson said: “And on account to wish all the very best to Scotland and England and all the home nations who may be playing.
“I never know if he’s going to reciprocate Mr Speaker but it’s worth a shot, I thought.”
