Boris Johnson has been snapped by Sky News on a flight back to the UK amid calls for his return to Downing Street.
Despite being ousted by his own party just three months ago, the former Mayor of London has emerged as an early front-runner to become the next PM.
Penny Mordaunt has thrown her hat in the ring as the first person to announce her candidacy, tweeting that she would offer a “fresh start” for the party which has faced many controversies.
Ex-Chancellor Rishi Sunak is also expected to announce his leadership bid soon.
