UEFA are demanding the attendance of up to 2,5000 VIPs at the final on July 11 without being subjected to quarantine requirements that apply to other international travellers.

There has been concern the Wembley Stadium could lose its matches unless the Government caves to the competition organisers.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi has offered up Rome as an alternative.

But when asked about the comments this afternoon, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman brushed off the attempts to move the tournament.

“That’s a matter for the Italian PM,” he said.

Re-committing to holding the games, the No10 official added: “We’re looking forward to putting on fantastic semi-finals and final at Wembley.

“We will do so safely and securely.”
