Live from London on Thursday, the Prime Minister delivered a speech at the Youth4Climate summit, a Milan-based two-day event held in advance of the Pre-COP, in front of young climate activists. The Pre-COP 26 conference will then be held at Milan’s MiCo convention centre until 2 October.
The COP26 UN climate summit will only begin on 31 October in Glasgow.
Before reassuring his young public on what can be done to alter climate change, Mr Johnson shared alarming words on the current situation.
“Hundreds of millions of you are facing rising seas, failing crops, burning forests, and evermore ferocious storms, daily challenges that lead to lost opportunity,” he said.
“Young people around the world are already paying the price for the reckless actions of their elders.
“Your future is literally being stolen before your eyes.”
In Milan, protesters went to the streets ahead of the summit to share their outrage trying to block access to the Mico with three different roadblocks.
A video published by local news agency Ansa and shared on Twitter showed a moment of contact with batons between police officers and climate activists.
“I saw the protesters earlier on”, said Boris Johnson.

“You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.”
The same young lady delivered another speech at Youth4Climate in Milan where she mocked politicians like Johnson for their preference of words over action.
During her speech on Tuesday, she said: “This is not about some expensive, politically correct, green act of bunny hugging.
“Build back better, blah blah blah. Green economy, blah blah blah. Net-zero by 2050, blah blah blah. Climate-neutral, blah blah blah.
“This is all we hear from our so-called leaders.
“Words that sound great, but so far have led to no action.”
However, according to the British PM, there is still hope as acts are coming.
“The most frustrating thing is that we know we can stop it”, he said.
“There is still just enough time to put on the brakes.
“We know what needs to be done, we just have to get on with it.”
Ironically, a recent survey conducted by Opinium and the Conservative Environment Network released by Sky News said Johnson’s national strategy on climate change is inadequate.
According to the nationally representative sample of more than 3,000 adults, almost half of all of those polled believe that the UK government is under-reacting to climate change.
Only 22% believe it is doing enough on the issue.
