The news comes after two petitions were sent to the UK Parliament to ask for fireworks to be available only for organised displays as they cause “unnecessary stress” to animals.
Two petitions calling for fireworks to be banned from sale to the public are now receiving hundreds of signatures.
The petitions are now gaining many signatures.
They have followed firework displays at Halloween on October 31, Diwali on November 4 and Bonfire Night on November 5.
The petition states: “Make the purchase of fireworks illegal unless they are for public displays only.
“Fireworks cause unnecessary stress to animals.
“If we can limit the use of fireworks to public displays only, it means the owners of domestic animals can make preparations to help prevent unnecessary stress to their pets.
“Home thrown firework displays are unpredictable and dangerous, and can leave unnecessary rubbish also.”
