The Emmy Award winning actor, who came to prominence on Saturday Night Live, then went on to say that the British monarchy “represents history”.
“I grew up in Canada, she is on every dollar, she is in every hockey rink, she’s in every airport and I think she did a great job, there I said it.”
Praising the monarch, Mike was then asked if he ever got a chance to come face to face with the Queen during her lifetime, to which he said he didn’t, but he was invited to Buckingham Palace.
“I got to Buckingham Palace,” he exclaimed. “I didn’t get to meet the Queen but I saw the changing of the guard.
