    There will be no European football for the Gunners next term, which could inadvertently help Pepe.

    Playing every three days led to Arteta changing his starting XI from game to game this season, with Pepe often playing in the Europa League and needing a rest come the weekend.

    But with potentially up to a week between fixtures, Pepe could benefit from those few days rest in-between regular starts in the Premier League.

    Arsenal still need to add to their squad, with midfield and defence crying out for extra quality and depth.

    However, Pepe’s sudden change in form means he now appears to be like a new signing for Arteta.
