Speaking to United’s club website last year having played as a centreback, Shaw said: “To be fair, I played it a couple of times last season and it’s a role that I have been enjoying,
“Don’t get me wrong – it’s not too much different to left-back. I’m still kind of in the same position [of the pitch].
“But I’m enjoying it, and I’ve said before, wherever the manager wants to play, I’m happy to play and happy to be on the pitch to give my all for the team.”
Telles could become restless sat on the United bench if he is not given opportunities to shine at United and the appointment of a manager who could play him in a role where he will impress.
It remains to be seen whether Solskjaer survives the season at United, or whether, as reported by the Daily Star, fans begin to make enough noise that the board show him the door.
