Anthony Callea warns people off marriage as he claims 'the seven-year itch is REAL'

Anthony Callea urged his followers not to get married after posting a cheeky video with his husband of seven years, Tim Campbell, on Instagram on Wednesday.

The 38-year-old singer complained that Tim had bought him a rapid antigen test kit instead of ‘shoes and diamonds’.

Meanwhile, Tim, 46, couldn’t resist making a jibe about Nadia Bartel, which left Anthony momentarily speechless.

‘I needed to hydrate, so I went inside to get myself a drink, and I said to my beautiful husband, “What would you like to drink?” and he says, “I’m fine, babe. I’m just doing some online shopping,” and I said, “Oh. What are you buying me?” What’s he buying me? What are you buying me?’ Anthony asked Tim.

Tim then told Anthony that he had bought them ‘some rapid antigen test kits online’ so they could test for COVID at home.    

‘Yeah, so people, if you’re thinking of getting married, don’t, because the seven-year itch, this is what happens. Your husband starts buying you things to stick up your nose,’ continued Anthony.

A bemused Tim responded: ‘Something to stick up your schnoz casually. Oh, full disclosure, no Kmart plates involved.’

Clearly stunned by his comment, a wide-eyed Anthony laughed, before adding: ‘You can’t say that!’  

Tim’s comment was in reference to Nadia Bartel, after the former football WAG was filmed snorting a white substance off a $1.50 Kmart plate in September.

‘I have let you all down by my actions. I take full responsibility and I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure I make better choices in future,’ the 36-year-old later wrote on Instagram. 

After composing himself, Anthony continued: ‘That’s why I hydrate in this relationship, people. Because he buys me things to stick up my nose to test if I have COVID. 

‘Most people want shoes and diamonds. Nuh. I’m over this. I’m over him.’

Captioning the video, Anthony wrote: ‘Don’t get married peeps… the seven-year itch is REAL!!!!’

Meanwhile, Tim shared the same video on his Instagram and poked fun at Anthony coming second on Australian Idol, a year after Shannon Noll also placed runner-up.

‘Urgh, why didn’t I choose Shannon Noll instead… #whataboutme #itisntfair,’ the renowned stage actor wrote.
