Samuel Johnson’s sister Hilde Hinton has provided an update on the actor’s recovery following his recent road accident.
The Secret Life of Us star, 43, suffered head injuries after being struck by a car late last month.
Hilde shared a photo to Instagram on Wednesday of her brother’s scabbed hands from his hospital bed, and captioned the post, ‘No words.’

Samuel will spend weeks in hospital following the accident.
The Illustrated Family Doctor star’s older sister shared an update about his condition in a post to Facebook last Friday.
‘I got to see Sam today! All the phone calls in the world aren’t the same as being able to touch his actual face. I couldn’t help it, I cried,’ she wrote on the official page of their charity, Love My Sister.

‘He said he wanted to thank the doctors, the nurses and the ward staff for all the wonderful care he’s receiving (me too, x 1,000). And, to all the carers out there, he’s said thank you before – but he wanted to say it again (as do I). Flanks’.
She went on: ‘He misses being at work and, because it’s the first thing he asks about, I’ve been giving him daily updates from LYS HQ. They’re busy taking care of everything until he can return, which makes him happy.
‘They reckon he’ll be out of hospital in a couple of weeks, so I’ll hand him back our Facebook page (for now – *wink*) and let him do the next update’.

Hilde first revealed news of the accident news on Monday, writing on Facebook: ‘I wish I didn’t have to tell you this. Early Saturday night Sam was on his way to visit family when he was accidentally hit by a car.
‘Our Ambos got him picked up and tucked away safely in hospital in record time. I followed them in.
‘The fantastical medical staff are in overdrive taking care of his sore head,’ she added.
‘He’s awake and not too happy that he doesn’t have his pants – nobody loves a hospital gown. Hearing his voice is lovely, but can’t wait for hugs when it’s safe.

‘I’ll keep you updated,’ she concluded the post, which was shared alongside a photo of Hilde hugging a stuffed toy.
Samuel started the Love My Sister cancer charity in 2012, with his late sister, Connie Johnson, who died of breast cancer at age 40 in 2017.
The Crawlspace star won the Gold Logie for the most popular personality on Australian television in 2017, following his starring role in the mini-series, Molly.

In 2018, Samuel was awarded an Australian of the Year honour, for his work in entertainment and his charity undertakings.
The Crackerjack star, who took a break from acting in recent years, won Dancing With The Stars in 2019.
He also stripped naked on stage to raise funds for charity in The All New Monty special last year.
