    Alan Cumming has been making the most of the sunshine on his balcony while in mandatory hotel quarantine in Adelaide.

    The 56-year-old Scottish-American actor was spotted soaking up the sun as he stood outside on Monday.

    A shirtless Alan stood with his arms outstretched, as he peered down at the street below him.

    He stepped out in just a pair of black shorts slung low on his hips, and his grey hair appeared slightly dishevelled.

    After taking a moment to enjoy the fresh air, the former Good Wife actor turned and went back into his hotel room.

    Alan arrived in Australia on Saturday after flying in from the US, ahead of his appearance as the artistic director at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

    He shared a photo of himself on Instagram at the time wearing what appeared to be a blue hooded robe printed with koalas.

    On Sunday, he shared a short video of himself singing on his hotel balcony as one of his neighbours waved from a few rooms down.

    ‘I am so jet slagged here in Adelaide I’m posting this before I go to sleep for hopefully a very long time,’ he captioned the post.

    Earlier on Monday, Alan revealed he was already developing a taste for all things Australian.

    He shared a photo of his snack, which consisted of Vegemite smeared onto a couple of rice crackers.

    ‘Really assimilating here in my Adelaide quarantine!’ he wrote.

    ‘As we all know, that little virus (Ms Rona to her friends) had other plans. The 2020 Adelaide Cabaret Festival was an online only event, the Edinburgh festivals were cancelled and suddenly all the goalposts were changed and I was in zoom meetings discussing venue cleaning turnaround times and hotel quarantine budgets,’ he wrote for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival website.

    Alan said he first visited Adelaide in 1989 as half of a cabaret double act and ‘had a blast’.

    ‘I love the spirit and the joy and the spunk and the fusion of high and low culture that is Australia. And I even love the slight inferiority complex it can have because I have that too,’ he added. 

    ‘In fact, the entire description above could apply to me! I have spirit! I have joy! I have spunk! And I am definitely a fusion of the high and the low!’

    The Adelaide Cabaret Festival is set to run from June 11 until June 26.

    Afterwards, the Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion star is taking his show, Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age, on tour around Australia.

    The tour will begin in Brisbane on June 30 before finishing in Perth on July 9.
