Activists from the vegan protest group Animal Rebellion staged a series of dramatic ‘Milk Pour’ protests this afternoon at a series of high-end stores. The vegan eco-activists targeted luxury stores like Harrods and Fortnum & Mason in London. Protesters were also filmed pouring milk onto the shop floors at Waitrose, Whole Foods and Marks and Spencer in London, Manchester, Norwich and Edinburgh.

In Harrods, the eco-protesters were filmed pouring the milk onto the meat counters before pouring the rest of the cartons onto the floor.

At Fortnum & Mason, members of staff watched on as the protest mob emptied bottles of milk onto the cheese counters.

Animal Rebellion tweeted out clips from each of the protests, adding: “Milk Pours are currently happening across the UK.

“All are concerned individuals calling on the government to give us a livable future, a #PlantBasedFuture.

“Supporters of Animal Rebellion have just poured dairy over the meat counters at Harrods calling on the government to support farmers in the transition to a #PlantBasedFuture.”

Footage from a protest at a Waitrose store in Edinburgh saw an employee trying to stop the protest and pleading with them to stop.

He can be heard telling the two young activists that they have “made their point”.

Despite the pleas, the two eco-activists continue to dump milk onto the floor, as one insists they are “non-violent and peacefully protesting”.

Another says they exhausted the “democratic means,” adding: “We have tried voting, we have signed petitions.”
